We got past the biggest problem and now I am trying to get the lights and stuff together again to actually do a show this year.
I had never really anticipated the need to get the lights up and working, but I had little choice at the time .
Things are looking up… so who knows what a little faith and ingenuity will get done … 84 days is actually a long time . OK it isn’t that long but heck I can set the clock out now as it only counts down from 100 Days.
So now the Task is ….. how are we going to do it … HMMMMMMMM
Well it has a been a tough year for us and we had to sell off the lights to make ends meet.
So for now there will be no light this year.
apologies ..
Bill
August is my get serious month. Actually I do look for some great buys in July, but August is when I start the real work to prepare for the Light up event.
I have a Halloween display so I can’t do too much in the way of “Christmas outside lighting” There is lots of prep work. Since about March I have been sequencing songs for this year. I am hoping to have about 3 hours of music for the light show this year. So I have been reworking last years songs and adding some more. It will be bigger then last year as I had an little over an hour of music before it repeats.
But August is the real start month for getting ready. Since I do the all the lights myself it is quit a job. I am also in the process of looking for a new job. So if you know of anybody that needs a IT GEEK with telephone experience let me know. Maybe someone needs a Lighting Geek?
I am getting into physical shape, I start to work out on the weights more, By the time November rolls around I will be doing 40 minutes stretching and weight training twice a day, I will put on about 20 pounds by eating better, and taking care of myself. At the end of August I start to take vitamins and supplements. It is a grueling event to put up 90,000 lights and I have to be in top condition.
Last year it took a over a full week, getting up at 6:00 AM and working until late into the evening for 10 days straight. It is physically demanding and I am not getting any younger.
This months activities include sequencing a never ending task. Check out the controllers and make sure the sound system is working right.
have a great day

If you know of other Christmas Light displays worth visiting. Please comment with it link and I will try to keep this list updated
Was a little shall we say peeved at work today. So I came home, had a bite to eat and decided to sequence a song. I had most of it done and it just needed some finishing . It took another couple hours and all was good with life again.
I use LOR and a program that I can control the lights with to 5/100s of a second.
As you can see I have updated the site. It was way too hot outside to be working outdoors. So while doing laundry I decided to update the site a little with some fresh paint and tools ..
Early this morning I opened the control boxes which sit outside and cleaned the cobwebs and bugs out, so they will be ready for July 4th.
I am starting to really enjoy WORD PRESS as a siteĀ tool. It makes it easy to maintain a site with changing content.
Apparently some of the Asterisk folks are linking to my Sound Of Light Site.
I think they really wanted to link to the telephone site at Bill Learning.com
Have a great day
Yup getting ready for the big Thanksgiving Day event.
I have about 90,000 lights to go up, and have to paint the blue lights (they fade each season)
I have approximately 3 hours of music this year give or take a few minutes.
Back from some time off I am taking my vitamins and doing my workouts each evening. Yah really
I’m excited about getting out there and putting some lights up. OK the first event July 4th which is just a very small light show. Then there is Halloween which will also be small this year.
So stayed tuned and Merry Christmas
I will add more information as time permits, I am getting darn excited about getting started .
The first Light show of this year will be July 4th. I have a block party where we do some Bar B Que and chat with the neighbors, then later on in the evening we do some fire works and the light show.
This will be the third year we are doing it and I am so looking forward to it.
