Work Needed

Author: admin | Filed under: Other Interests, Sound of Light Saturday Dec 6,2008

Well the lights are lit, the decorations are hung, The yard looks great and we will share the Christmas experience with anybody that drives by and our neighbors.

The only thing I need to do now is find some work that pays. I am a pretty versatile guy so there is a lot if different work that I can do. Although my resume shows some of the work I have done and some of my experience, I’m in a situation where I will do most anything, I just need a JOB ASAP. you can also visit my LinkedIn page

It Is Lit

This years display, taken By ChristopherI did most of the waterproofing today. SO it is ON WITH THE SHOW.

Come on by and see the lights.

Don’t forget the Toys For Tots

Merry Christmas

Out again tonight

Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized Sunday Nov 30,2008

AAARGGHHH Sorry we are off again tonight. I can start the Waterproofing can’t start until it dries out and it isn’t very dry today either. Maybe if I get the leaf blower out I can get it dry …

But then I would have to test it and I really don’t like testing electrical stuff with wet shoes … *SMILE*

Maybe we will get a break in the weather and I can do some waterproofing

We will be back as soon as it dries out a bit.

So how is the show coming?

Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized Monday Nov 24,2008

Well it is pretty much done.

I did a few tests and it ran perfect. So we have almost 50,000 lights. I can’t believe so many folks wanted me to do this show.

Thanks goes to the guys who had extra lights that loaned me a few thousand for this show.

Thanks also to a few friends who loaned me controllers and a client that paid recently I had 144 channels to work with. Still missing a few from the original goal but heck it is done for this year and it looks Great.

There are 34 songs done and a few more in the works, so the show will be the longest non repeating show we have done. It starts Thanksgiving evening 5:30 PM and runs until 11:30 PM with approximately 2 hours of synchronized music.

Then every evening it will run from 5:30 PM until 10:00 PM weekdays and until 11:30 weekends.

I have been helping a few folks around the Atlanta area put their shows together and it has been very very busy and exciting.

Again we will be collecting Toys for Tots and Collecting donations for Fur Kids an Atlanta No Kill rescue and shelter.

I’ve made a special request to Santa who this year will be dropping by every Friday and Saturday evening for a couple of hours (7:00 to 9:00 PM) to hand out Candy Canes and talk to the Kids until the BIG day. On the 24th (here) Instead of a visit from Santa, we have set Santa up with a GPS and we will turn on the Super Mega Computer Big HD Super duper Big Screen Santa tracker system.

SO “COME ON CHRISTMAS, Christmas …. COME ON” Sounds like a SONG …

Thanks to everybody who helped make this years show a success!

Merry Christmas

Gotta Love people

Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized Saturday Nov 8,2008

So far there has been lots of help with putting this years show together and I just want to make mention of those folks here. This years Theme is “Hope, Peace and Love” There are some new songs this year that have never been synchronized by anyone and are more aligned with that theme.

There are several folks that bought last years gear to help out in a difficult time earlier this year, too many to mention here but you all know who you are. Thank You.

Jim and Joey who are lending me a couple LOR controllers, I did get a kit the other day and put it together so that is 4 so far.

I wasn’t sure I could do that ( I used to work on electronic controllers when I could see well) as my eyesight is horrible at that close range. So I had used some very strong readers and a magnifying glass. I had one component backwards but that was soon fixed and when I power it up it worked fine.

I have some more on order that should be here Wednesday. I need one more to get that part done, but I am sure that will come its way in good time. I do believe.

The neighbors heard of the situation and that I might not do a show this year so they have banded together to be involved as well.

It chokes me up every time I think about it. Thank you Thank you. Thank you.

I have 8 Charlie brown trees made now from scraps of materials I had around and I must say they look pretty darn good. $0.00 cost

18 Days to light up. So I had best get to it …

Todays activities, see how many of those lights I kept are working and see how far I can make them go. Put lights on the Toys for Tots Train.

Update

Author: admin | Filed under: Sound of Light Friday Nov 7,2008

Well I have been getting ready even more and pulled out some of the lights to see what we can do with them.  I did get started but it rained today and I didn’t get much done. The leaves are falling and I had cleaned them up 3 times now.

I do the yard work just before the larger items go into the yard and then it is no yard work until next year. Can you believe that “Next Year” Already!

So we have 20 days left , all but a few songs are sequenced and I will update this years list of songs soon.    We have the complete list of last years show plus some more.

Stayed tuned as there will be a light show this year and it will better then last year and I hope to see everybody again come Thanksgiving.

Merry Christmas

Get out and vote people

Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized Monday Nov 3,2008

Just hoping everybody gets out and votes Tuesday!

we made it this far

Author: admin | Filed under: Sound of Light Wednesday Sep 3,2008

We got past the biggest problem and now I am trying to get the lights and stuff together again to actually do a show this year.

I had never really anticipated the need to get the lights up and working, but I had little choice at the time .

Things are looking up… so who knows what a little faith and ingenuity will get done … 84 days is actually a long time . OK it isn’t that long but heck I can set the clock out now as it only counts down from 100 Days.

So now the Task is ….. how are we going to do it … HMMMMMMMM

Sad Day,

Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized Sunday Aug 17,2008

Well it has a been a tough year for us and we had to sell off the lights to make ends meet.

So for now there will be no light this year.

apologies ..
